A tough game for us today for Ventnor FC 1st team with most of the lads having to go a funeral yesterday, and having a hot day also didn’t help that.
We started ok but somehow conceded an early goal, when following a deliberate handball not seen by the ref the ball was smashed in past stand in keeper Ben Cooper from 30 yards, Ben unlucky as he managed to get finger tips on it!
We then a started to dominate the game creating 4/5 good chances and got a deserved equaliser when following some good work from Emerson Tattersall the ball fell to LIAM HARPER who smashed the ball home, we got our second few minutes later last years top scorer EMERSON TATTERSALL coolly slotted home the half ended with Ventnor again creating lots of chances but we went in half time 2-1
We discussed shortening the game moving the ball quicker and we did that almost immediately when EMERSON TATTERSALL closed down their defender swivelled and Cooley slotted past the keeper 3-1 then we fot our 4th when once again Emerson found the ball out wide, beat the defender then whip a cross in for his strike partner CHARLIE URRY to pass into an empty net.
Binstead were now beaten and dropped deeper but the evening before was starting to take its toll, we slowed the game right down and tried to keep the ball restricting Binstead to long range chances then we finished game off where the Man of Match EMERSON TATTERSALL scored his hatrick and our 5th to get our first 3pts of the season.
Good result and performance today, especially with the tough day before so proud of the work these boys put in.
